We live in the mountain area of North Wales, not far from the Irish Sea.
We live with our dogs, all of which are English Springer Spaniels and they live as part of the family.
My very first show springer was Arngeirr Barclay James, a liver and white dog, bought from Martin & Joan Dempsey in 1991.
In 1995, we were granted the affix of REUBENS. The idea for this name came from a promising young racehorse at the time.
We are only a small, 'hobby' breeder but our goal is to produce healthy springers. I try and 'do my bit' for the breed and always try to remember the originial abilities of the breed and that it is a working dog.
At Reubens we have both black and white, and liver and white springers and have bred a number of litters of both colours in the past.
My husband is far more interested in football than dogs but my main interests lies with dog shows, both to exhibit and to spectate. I have no desire to judge at the moment but I am currently engaged a little in the working side of our breed and have started training Isaac. Watch this space!!!
So you see the English Springer Spaniel really is the perfect breed for me....
